1. Welcome to LGB Social
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and LGB Social ("LGB Social," "we," "us," or "our"). They govern your use of the LGB Social mobile app, the website at unitedlgb.com, and every feature, service, and piece of content we provide (together, the "Service").
LGB Social is a community and social networking platform built for gay, lesbian, and bisexual people and the people who support them. Our focus is community building: friendships, conversation, groups, creators, events, and connection.
By creating an account, downloading the app, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Community Standards. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
IMPORTANT: Section 20 contains a binding arbitration agreement and a class action waiver that affect how disputes between you and us are resolved. Please read it carefully. You may opt out as described in Section 20.6.
2. Eligibility
2.1 You must be 18 or older
The Service is for adults only. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher) to create an account or use any part of the Service. We check your date of birth at signup and will not create an account for anyone under 18.
By using the Service, you promise that:
- you are at least 18 years old;
- you can legally enter into a binding contract;
- you are not prohibited from using the Service under the laws of the United States or the country where you live;
- you have not been convicted of, or pleaded no contest to, a sex crime, a crime involving violence, or any crime involving a minor, and you are not required to register as a sex offender in any jurisdiction;
- you have not previously been banned from the Service, unless we have given you written permission to return.
2.2 Minors are never permitted
If we learn or suspect that a user is under 18, we will close the account immediately, remove its content, and, where content suggests a child may be at risk, report it to the appropriate authorities (see Section 12).
2.3 Where the Service is available
We operate the Service from the United States. If you use it from another country, you are responsible for following your local laws, including laws about sexual orientation, dating, and adult content. Some features may not be available in some places, or in some versions of the app.
3. Your Account
3.1 Creating an account
To sign up, you give us your first and last name, email address, date of birth, birth sex, sexual orientation, and a password. We send a six-digit verification code to your email. Your account is created only after you enter that code, which expires after 48 hours.
You agree to:
- give accurate, current, and complete information, and keep it up to date;
- create only one personal account;
- use your own identity and not pretend to be anyone else;
- not sell, transfer, rent, or share your account with anyone.
We assign each account a unique handle. Your first name is shown to other users as part of your display name and cannot be hidden. Your last name is shown only if you choose to show it in Privacy Settings. Your email is never shown to other users. Your exact date of birth is never shown; other users may see your age unless you hide it.
3.2 Keeping your account secure
You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything that happens under your account. Use a strong password that you do not use anywhere else. Tell us right away at info@unitedlgb.com if you believe someone else has accessed your account.
3.3 Inactive and suspended accounts
We may mark an account inactive, suspend it, or close it as described in Section 15. You cannot log in to an inactive account.
4. Community Standards
Our Community Standards, available in the app under Menu → Standards, are part of these Terms. In summary:
- Community first. Show up with care, support others, and build belonging.
- Sexual orientation is foundational identity. No one here has to debate or defend their existence.
- Respect the broader TQIA+ community. You may disagree with ideas, but you may not dehumanize, mock, threaten, or call for harm against people.
- No hate speech based on sexual orientation, gender identity, race, religion, ethnicity, disability, or nationality.
- Zero tolerance for violence or threats. We report credible threats to authorities.
- A politically independent space. No partisan campaigning, propaganda, or recruitment.
- Civil, good-faith dialogue. No trolling, dogpiling, or misrepresenting others.
- Intergenerational respect.
- Privacy and personal safety. No doxxing, and no sharing other people's private information or private conversations without consent.
- Responsible participation. Welcome newcomers and report violations.
If the Community Standards and these Terms conflict, these Terms control.
5. The Features of the Service
This section explains each part of LGB Social and the rules that apply to it. Some features may be limited, changed, or unavailable depending on the version of the app you use (for example, the Google Play version, the Apple App Store version, or the version downloaded from our website).
5.1 Profile
Your profile can include a display name, profile photo, bio, interests, marital status, ethnicity, location (city/region), and other optional details. In Privacy Settings you control whether other users can see your last name, marital status, age, and your distance in Browse, and whether you accept friend requests and inbox messages.
5.2 Home feed, posts, comments, reactions, and shares
- You can post text, up to 22 photos, and one video (up to 45 minutes) per post, and choose a photo layout.
- Your posts are visible to you and to your accepted friends. Friends who follow you see your posts in their home feed.
- You can react to posts and comments, comment and reply, tag accepted friends, and share posts to your own feed.
- When you share someone's post, the original author's content is displayed. If the author deletes it, the share may no longer show it.
- You can edit or delete your own posts and comments at any time. Deleting a comment also deletes the replies under it.
5.3 Friends, follows, and blocking
- You can send, accept, decline, and cancel friend requests, and follow or unfollow other users.
- You can block any user at any time. Blocking removes any friendship and follows between you, and prevents that person from messaging you or interacting with you in most areas. A block made from Adult Browse also applies to your standard profile.
- You can stop receiving friend requests or inbox messages in Privacy Settings.
5.4 Messages and audio/video calls
- You can send private text messages (up to 2,000 characters), photos, and videos to other users when both of you accept inbox messages and neither of you has blocked the other.
- You can place one-to-one audio and video calls. Calls are live and are not recorded or saved by us unless reported (see the Privacy Policy). If a report copy does not violate these Terms or the Privacy Policy, we release it from admin records. Reported material that is illegal or criminal can and will be submitted to law enforcement. By creating an account or continuing your membership, you consent to the surrender of any illegal or criminal material you add to the Service to the appropriate authorities. However, you must not record, screenshot, or capture another person during a call without their clear permission, and you should assume the other person could do so in violation of these Terms.
- "Hiding" a conversation removes it from your view only. The other person keeps their copy.
5.5 Groups
- You can create public or private groups, optionally protected with a join password, with a name, descriptions, a category, tags, and photos.
- Group discussions use posts, comments, and reactions, and are visible to group members only. Posts from private groups cannot be shared outside the group.
- The organizer who creates a group is responsible for managing it in line with these Terms, and may edit or delete it. Organizers cannot leave their own group; they must delete it.
- Being a group organizer does not make you our employee or agent.
5.6 Pool chat rooms
- Pool rooms are temporary group text chats (with photos) organized by interest. Up to 25 people can be in a room. Rooms may be password-protected.
- Pool chats are temporary by design. Messages are deleted automatically about 10 minutes after they are sent, your messages are deleted when you leave or go inactive, and empty rooms are deleted.
- Other people in the room can still read, remember, or capture what you post while it is visible. Do not post anything you would not want others to keep.
5.7 Video chat rooms
- Video rooms let up to 25 people join a live group video chat organized by interest. Rooms may be password-protected.
- Video rooms are live and are not recorded or saved by us unless reported. You must not record or capture other participants without their permission.
- All Community Standards apply on camera. Nudity and sexual activity are not permitted in video rooms. Remember that other participants are often strangers.
5.8 Channels (creators, live streaming, and videos)
- Any adult user may create one channel with a title, description, keywords, category, and card image. You can go live to up to 50 viewers at a time, chat with viewers, and upload videos (up to 3 hours and 8 GB each) with a cover image, title, description, and keywords.
- Nudity is never permitted in channel card images, video covers, live streams, or uploaded channel videos.
- Live streams are not recorded or saved by us unless reported. Videos you upload remain available until you delete them or your channel is removed.
- Followers and friends may be notified when you go live.
5.9 Browse
- Browse lets you search for other users by category and filters. You can hide yourself from Browse; while hidden, you cannot browse others. You can also hide yourself from your friends in Browse.
- Distance is shown based on the approximate location on your account, and you can turn your distance off.
5.10 Adult Browse (18+, opt-in)
Adult Browse is an optional area for adults who want to meet other adults for dating and relationships, which may include casual encounters. It is off unless you turn it on. By turning on Adult Browse, you confirm that you are 18 or older, that you want to see adult-oriented profiles, and that you accept the following rules:
- Separate adult profile. Your adult profile has its own handle (which may differ from your main handle and is not unique), an "About me," availability, preferred meeting places, how you describe yourself, positions, activity interests, the types of people you are seeking, a main photo, and up to four private photos. You must complete it before you can view other adult profiles.
- Main adult photo. Your main adult photo is visible to other Adult Browse users and must not contain nudity.
- Private photos. Your private photos (Pictures 1 to 4) are hidden by default. They are shown to another user only after a request is accepted or you unlock them for that person, and these grants are mutual. Private photos may contain nudity (exposed genitals, buttocks, or breasts), but must not depict sexual acts, other people, or anyone who has not consented. You may only upload photos of yourself, taken by you or with your permission, showing only you. You can lock your private photos at any time, which removes access for everyone you granted.
- Adult messages and calls. Adult Browse has its own messenger and audio/video calls, separate from your personal inbox. Calls are not recorded or saved by us unless reported. Never record or capture another person without their consent.
- Consent is mandatory. Everything in Adult Browse must be between consenting adults. "No" means no, and consent can be withdrawn at any time.
- No commercial sex. You may not use any part of the Service to offer, request, advertise, or arrange sex or sexual services in exchange for money, gifts, drugs, or anything of value. This includes escorting, prostitution, "sugar" arrangements that trade sex for money, and promoting paid adult sites. Human trafficking and sexual exploitation are strictly prohibited and will be reported to law enforcement.
- Not in public. Do not engage in sexual activity in public places or anywhere it is illegal. Selecting a "preferred location" is not permission to break the law.
- Health and safety are your responsibility. Practice safer sex, be honest with partners about anything that affects their health or safety, and follow the laws where you live.
5.11 Notifications
The app shows in-app notifications when people react to, comment on, or share your posts, reply to your comments, send or accept friend requests, or when a channel you follow goes live. If push notifications are added later, we will update this section and the Privacy Policy.
5.12 My Report and clearing your data
My Report (Menu → My Report) shows how much storage each feature uses for your account and lets you clear content you have created, such as messages you sent, posts, comments, reactions, photos, groups, channel videos, notifications, and your blocked list. Clearing content is permanent and cannot be undone. Clearing content does not delete your account; see Section 15.3 for account deletion.
6. Content Rules
"Content" means anything you post, upload, send, stream, or share on the Service, including text, photos, videos, audio, live video, messages, profile details, group and channel information, and comments.
6.1 Prohibited content and conduct (everywhere on the Service)
You may not post, send, stream, or do any of the following:
- Anything involving minors in a sexual or exploitative way. See Section 12. This is an absolute rule with zero tolerance.
- Sexually explicit content, meaning depictions of sexual acts, sexual intercourse, oral sex, masturbation, or sexual arousal, anywhere on the Service, including posts, comments, groups, pool rooms, video rooms, channels, live streams, uploaded videos, messages, and calls.
- Nudity, except in Adult Browse private photos as allowed in Section 5.10. Nudity is never allowed in profile photos, main adult photos, posts, comments, groups, pool rooms, video rooms, channels, cover images, or live streams.
- Non-consensual content, including intimate images or videos of anyone shared without their consent ("revenge porn"), sextortion, hidden-camera content, deepfakes, or AI-generated sexual images of real people.
- Content of other people without their permission, including recordings, screenshots, or photos of others taken during calls, video rooms, or live streams.
- Content you do not have the right to share, including other people's videos copied from other platforms, copyrighted music, films, or photos you do not own or license.
- Commercial sex, solicitation, or trafficking (see Section 5.10).
- Hate speech, harassment, bullying, threats, or violence, including content that encourages self-harm or suicide.
- Doxxing, meaning sharing someone's private information, such as their address, phone number, workplace, legal name, HIV status, or sexual orientation, without consent. Outing someone is a serious violation.
- Illegal activity, including selling or arranging illegal drugs, weapons, or stolen goods.
- Fraud, scams, and impersonation, including romance scams, requests for money, phishing, fake profiles, or pretending to be another person, brand, or LGB Social staff.
- Spam, including repetitive posts, chain messages, mass unsolicited messages, unauthorized advertising, or links to malware.
- Graphic violence or gore.
- Partisan political campaigning or propaganda, as described in the Community Standards.
- Interfering with the Service, including hacking, scraping, bots, automated accounts, reverse engineering, overloading our servers, bypassing security or privacy controls, or accessing data or accounts that are not yours.
6.2 You are responsible for your content
You are solely responsible for your content and for your interactions with other users. We do not pre-screen content, but we may review, remove, or restrict any content at any time for any reason, including if we believe it violates these Terms or the law.
6.3 Content in the website version
[If you offer a version of the Service outside the app stores with different content rules, describe it in a separate Terms addendum for that version. That version must keep the 18+ requirement, age and identity verification, performer consent and record-keeping, and all legal requirements. Do not reference that version, its content, or its pricing inside the Google Play or Apple App Store versions of the app.]
7. Meeting People and Safety
- We do not perform criminal background checks or identity verification on users, and we do not verify what users say about themselves. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users, online and offline.
- If you meet someone in person: meet in a public place first, tell a friend where you are going, arrange your own transportation, stay in control of your drinking or substance use, and leave if you feel unsafe.
- Never send money or financial information to someone you have met on the Service.
- If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services (911 in the United States).
- LGBTQ+ safety: In some places, dating or same-sex activity may be targeted by criminals or authorities. Be cautious about sharing identifying photos or your location, and use the privacy tools in the app.
8. Your Content and the License You Give Us
8.1 You own your content
You keep ownership of the content you create.
8.2 License to us
So that we can run the Service, you grant LGB Social a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to host, store, copy, process, display, distribute, transmit, and adapt your content (for example, resizing or compressing it) only to operate, provide, improve, and promote the Service, and only in a way consistent with your privacy settings. This license ends when your content is deleted from the Service, except:
- for content you shared with others that they have saved or re-shared;
- for backups kept for a limited time;
- where we must keep content to comply with the law, enforce these Terms, or protect safety (for example, preserving evidence of child exploitation as required by law).
We will never sell your photos or videos.
8.3 Your promises about your content
You promise that you own or have all rights needed to post your content, that everyone identifiable in it is an adult who has consented, and that your content does not violate these Terms or anyone's rights.
9. Copyright (DMCA) Policy
We respect intellectual property rights and respond to notices of alleged infringement under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512).
To report infringement, send our Designated Agent a notice that includes:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- identification of the copyrighted work;
- identification of the infringing material and where it is on the Service;
- your contact information;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act for the owner.
Designated Copyright Agent: Copyright Agent, LGB Social, United States. Email privacy@unitedlgb.com for a mailing address., copyright@unitedlgb.com. Register this agent with the U.S. Copyright Office at copyright.gov/dmca-directory.
If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you may send a counter-notice that meets 17 U.S.C. § 512(g). We terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.
10. Reporting, Blocking, Moderation, and Enforcement
10.1 Reporting
You can report users and content that violate these Terms using the Report options in the app, or by emailing safety@unitedlgb.com. Report categories include harassment, spam, hate, impersonation, child endangerment, self-harm or suicide, criminal activity, adult content, fraud, and other. We review reports and take action as described below.
10.2 Blocking
You can block any user at any time from their profile, the inbox, Adult Browse, the adult messenger, video rooms, or notifications.
10.3 Our enforcement actions
If we believe you have violated these Terms or the law, or put others at risk, we may, at our discretion and with or without notice:
- remove or hide content;
- give you a warning;
- limit features (for example, messaging, Adult Browse, channels, or going live);
- temporarily suspend your account;
- permanently ban you and any other accounts we believe you control;
- block devices or other identifiers associated with banned accounts, to the extent permitted by law and app store policies;
- report you to law enforcement, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), or other authorities.
10.4 Appeals
If you believe we made a mistake, email appeals@unitedlgb.com within 30 days with your handle and an explanation. We will review it in good faith, but our decision is final. We will not reinstate accounts banned for child sexual abuse or exploitation, trafficking, or credible threats of violence.
11. Ads and Payments
The Service may show ads. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your sexual orientation, sex life, or health information for advertising.
The Service does not process payments, paid videos, subscriptions, donations, or creator payouts.
12. Child Safety Standards (Zero Tolerance for CSAE)
LGB Social has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). These standards are published as required by the Google Play Child Safety Standards policy, and they apply to every part of the Service.
- Adults only. The Service is only for people 18 and older. Accounts belonging to anyone under 18 are removed.
- Prohibited: any content or conduct that sexualizes minors, including images, videos, drawings, AI-generated or animated content, text, role-play involving minors, grooming, sextortion, soliciting minors, trafficking, or sharing links to such content. This applies whether or not the content is "real."
- Reporting in the app: Users can report accounts and content using the in-app Report tools, including the "Child endangerment" category, or by emailing safety@unitedlgb.com.
- Our response: We review child safety reports as a priority. When we find apparent CSAM or CSAE, we remove the content, ban the accounts involved, preserve evidence as required by law, and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by 18 U.S.C. § 2258A, and to other law enforcement and regional authorities as appropriate.
- Compliance with law: We comply with all applicable child safety laws.
- Child safety point of contact: the LGB Social Child Safety Team, safety@unitedlgb.com, who is responsible for our CSAM prevention practices and can speak to them.
If you believe a child is in immediate danger, call 911 (in the United States) or your local emergency number. You can also report to NCMEC at CyberTipline.org or 1-800-843-5678.
13. App Store Terms
13.1 Google Play
If you downloaded the app from Google Play, you also agree to the Google Play Terms of Service. These Terms are between you and LGB Social, not Google. Google is not responsible for the app or its content. If these Terms conflict with the Google Play Terms of Service on matters Google governs, the Google Play terms control for those matters.
13.2 Apple App Store
If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, the following also apply:
- These Terms are between you and LGB Social only, not Apple. LGB Social, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content.
- Your license to use the app is limited to a non-transferable license to use it on Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
- Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support services for the app.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the app. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
- LGB Social, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and claims under consumer protection, privacy, or similar laws.
- If a third party claims the app infringes its intellectual property rights, LGB Social, not Apple, is responsible for investigating, defending, settling, and discharging the claim.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist-supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Questions, complaints, or claims about the app should be directed to LGB Social at the contact information in Section 22.
- You must comply with applicable third-party terms (for example, your wireless data service agreement) when using the app.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, once you accept these Terms, Apple has the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
13.3 App downloaded from our website
If you installed the app directly from our website, you are responsible for making sure your device allows the installation, and for downloading the app only from unitedlgb.com. We are not responsible for copies obtained from anywhere else.
14. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and your rights and choices. It is part of these Terms.
15. Ending Your Account
15.1 You may leave at any time
You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account as described in 15.3.
15.2 We may suspend or terminate
We may suspend or terminate your account or access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or the law, if required by law or an app store, if you have not signed in for 1 year, or if continuing to provide the Service to you is no longer commercially reasonable.
15.3 Deleting your account
You can request deletion of your account and associated data:
- In the app: Menu → Delete account.
- On the web: delete-account.php, or by emailing privacy@unitedlgb.com from the email address on your account.
What is deleted and what we keep, and for how long, are explained in the Privacy Policy. We also automatically delete accounts that have not signed in for 1 year.
15.4 What survives
Sections 6.2, 8.2 (as limited there), 16 through 21, and any other terms that by their nature should survive will survive termination.
16. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, THAT CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE OR PRESERVED, OR THAT YOU WILL FIND A FRIEND, DATE, OR PARTNER.
WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONDUCT, ONLINE OR OFFLINE, OF ANY USER, OR FOR ANY CONTENT POSTED BY USERS. WE DO NOT PROVIDE MEDICAL, LEGAL, OR SAFETY ADVICE. ANY HEALTH INFORMATION USERS SHARE ABOUT THEMSELVES IS NOT VERIFIED BY US.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.
17. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LGB SOCIAL AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR REPUTATION, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE, YOUR CONTENT, OTHER USERS' CONDUCT OR CONTENT, OR ANY MEETING OR INTERACTION WITH ANOTHER USER, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) $100.
These limits do not apply where prohibited by law, including liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, fraud, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
18. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless LGB Social and its owners, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your content, your use of the Service, your interactions with other users, or your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right.
19. Changes to the Service and to These Terms
We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect, unless the change is required sooner by law or for safety. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept them. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and delete your account.
20. Dispute Resolution, Arbitration, and Class Action Waiver
20.1 Informal resolution first
Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at legal@unitedlgb.com and try to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
20.2 Binding arbitration
If we cannot resolve the dispute informally, you and LGB Social agree to resolve it through final and binding individual arbitration, rather than in court, except as described in 20.4. Arbitration will be administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, and will be governed by the Federal Arbitration Act. The arbitration may take place by video, by phone, based on written submissions, or in your county of residence.
20.3 Class action waiver
YOU AND LGB SOCIAL AGREE THAT CLAIMS MAY ONLY BE BROUGHT ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION.
20.4 Exceptions
Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court, and either party may seek court relief to protect intellectual property or stop unauthorized access to the Service.
20.5 Costs
We will pay AAA filing, administration, and arbitrator fees for claims under $10,000 unless the arbitrator finds your claim frivolous.
20.6 Opting out
You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing legal@unitedlgb.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, with your name, handle, account email, and a clear statement that you opt out of arbitration.
20.7 Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of applicable U.S. federal law and the law of the state where LGB Social maintains its principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. For any dispute not subject to arbitration, you and we agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts in the United States. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country, and you may bring claims in your local courts.
21. Legal Compliance and General Terms
- Laws we follow: We operate the Service in line with applicable laws, including U.S. federal and state laws on child protection (including 18 U.S.C. § 2258A reporting), anti-trafficking laws (including FOSTA-SESTA), copyright (DMCA), electronic communications, consumer protection, and privacy and data protection laws, as well as applicable international laws for users outside the United States.
- Export and sanctions: You may not use the Service if you are on a U.S. sanctions list or located in an embargoed country.
- Law enforcement: We may disclose information to law enforcement when legally required, or when we believe in good faith that it is necessary to prevent harm, as described in the Privacy Policy.
- Entire agreement: These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Community Standards, and any feature-specific terms we show you form the entire agreement between you and us.
- Severability: If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- No waiver: Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
- Assignment: You may not transfer these Terms. We may transfer them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- Electronic communications: You agree to receive communications from us electronically, including in the app and by email, and that these satisfy any legal requirement for written communications.
- Force majeure: We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
